MGM can now provide up to 1500 kVA in General Purpose cases
MGM Transformer uses standard case sizes for our 600 V class transformers. We have 8 (eight) standard cases (A, B, B+, C, C +, D, E and F) which are referred to as General Purpose or GP cases. These GP cases are stand-alone and designed with a cable-in and cable-out construction.
In the past MGM only used General Purpose cases up to 1000 kVA @ 150 C rise. For anything above 1000 kVA, MGM used a Unit Substation (US) construction which was much larger and added considerable costs. Due to this construction, MGM had historically struggled to match the pricing of competitors who could deliver these same units in General Purpose Cases.

MGM’s engineering team spent considerable time redesigning our 600V class units with kVA’s from 1000 to 1500KVA to fit into our GPF case. As a result, the total costs of these units have been reduced by up to 15%, all of which we plan to pass along to the customer in the form of lower prices!
Here is a high-level chart outlining the before and after:
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about our ability to provide higher KVA’s in GP cases, and please don’t be alarmed when you find our quotes much more competitive than you’re used to seeing. Please contact us at info@mgmtransformer.com.
